The small restaurant by the
side of the road on old Hwy. 421 has
been a familiar sight in southeast
Guilford County for quite a while. It
used to be labeled as a truck stop, and
served country cooking to residents and
travelers to the area. Its location is
conveniently situated between Greensboro
and Liberty, Pleasant Garden and
Burlington.
The location is what
Steven and Peggy Holmes noticed when
they bought a log home close by. The
truck stop property was up for sale at
the time, and after a good deal of
contemplation, Peggy decided to buy it
and open a restaurant.
The idea
wasn’t as far-fetched as it might seem
to you and me, since Steven has been
trained by both French and Japanese
chefs, has worked at The Vineyard,
served as corporate chef at RJR and was
chosen as one of the chefs on the senior
PGA tour. Yes, he’s met Arnold Palmer
and Chi Chi Rodriguez.
It seemed
to Peggy to be the right place, right
time kind of thing. She convinced Steven
to go for it, with the lure of having
his own place to create with food. After
several months of renovation, they
opened Four Winds Café in May 2006.
Right off, it was evident that this
was a different kind of place. The
Holmes’ made sure of that, developing a
fresh, continental menu with something
for everyone. They built upon Steven’s
philosophy: offer great food and great
service at a reasonable price. They have
taken their inspiration further, by
creating a relaxed atmosphere with
special touches like linen
napkins,
fresh flowers, and a well selected wine
list.
The Four Winds is open
Tuesday - Friday for breakfast and
lunch, with a gourmet breakfast on
Saturday mornings. Candlelit dinners are
served Wednesday - Saturday from 6 to
9PM and reservations are recommended on
the weekend.
Angelia’s Pizza
has two locations, both owned by Bill and Kathy
Dudich. They opened in Climax in 2003 and at
Forest Oaks in 2008.
They
make their own pizza dough and have received a
5-star rating from their customers.
Their
menu also includes a variety of Italian items,
including hoagies, wedgies and calzones.
Other popular items are
wings and salads. They now offer 100% Angus beef
burgers as well.
They
are proud to be corporate sponsors for both SE
Guilford and Providence Grove high school
booster clubs.
They deliver from both locations.

Green View Landscaping, a family
owned and operated business, was established in 1994.
Wayne, Richard, and Ryan Saunders, father and sons,
started Green View to provide professional landscape
services for both residential and commercial customers.
Green View
Garden Center sprouted in 1999 to be a retail site for
both homeowners and landscapers to get all their
landscaping supplies. With the addition of Katie
Saunders Coleman we were able to expand from only
bulk goods to a
full service garden center.

the importance of our local economy, that's why we
support our local agricultural community and carry only
North Carolina grown trees, shrubs, perennials and
